THE START
A meeting was called after the Picnic July 18th 2006 by Larry Kallod
The gist of the meeting was "Poop or Get Off the Pot"
Results we are now a bonifide fledgeing organzation, and like all groups just starting there will be a few speed bumps along the way.
Over the next few months I'm sure that a lot of other Vet groups will be studied to see how they do things, and more than likely some of their good points will be borrowed. However as someone pointed out we aren't the Navy, Airforce or Jar-Heads (thank you) and will learn by our own mistakes. A role call vote was held with the following personnel being elected for a three year term
President
Charles Lowe
Vice President
Bob Brower
Secretary / Historian
Tom Wonsiewicz
Treasurer
Pete McGuirk
Tom Wonsiewicz
Chaplin
Larry Kallod
Design Committee
Bill Northrup
Dennis Hull
Supply
Glenn Moore
Dennis Hull
Jim Winstead
Web Master
Lee Helle
Charles Lowe
Dues were set at $20.00 a year. The big expense right out the starting gate is opening a new web site account. This at present is a unknown cost and without going into a lot of detail it is possible that the dues will be reduced next year.
A few of the brothers are hard pressed for cash and anyone who falls into this catagory will have their membership dues waived.
After some consideration it was decided that the group from now on would be known as the 458th Sea Tigers.
Note#
In the near future where to send the dues will be announced
A big hand was gave to
Jim Anderberg for his outstanding work on the DVD project
Bob Brower for sending the smoked salmon (tasty). It seems that Pete was the guiding hand behind this gift. THANKS PETE !!!!

Members in good standing
By opening up your purse strings you have demonstrated that you support and believe in the organization, you are the ones that will be asked for advice, you are the ones who will lead the organization in the future.
Web Polls
We've had quite a few web polls since June 2007. For the most part these polls were instigated by myself to determine just what path you wanted your organization to follow. By a huge margin you said you wanted your organization to look to the future, to that end I feel that we've done pretty good so far. All my life I've had one motto "nothing is impossible" I confess to having little patience with those who would set on their duff and say you ain't supposed to do that. Can we do better? I think so however the call is yours to make
Today we have over four thousand setting in a checking account.
The question of the day is what to do with the money. This question will be raised at the membership meeting in July. Many of you will not be able to attend this meeting, as such I've placed the below guest book for your feedback
One idea might be, set a limit on the funds in the checking account, anything over that be invested in a safe interest bearing fund, looking into my crystal ball I can see the day when we could donate half of our yearly interest to a honest military charity or organization of which there are several.
what are your thoughts and ideas? All ideas will posted on a web poll, the results of the polls will be presented
at the 2008 meeting. (your name will be required)
thanks..................Lee
